Yash and Priyanka pair up for Sujit’s next

The Bengali cinema viewers can soon look forward to a new jodi on screen. Yash and Priyanka Sarkar have been roped in for director Sujit Mondol’s yet untitled film. “Does love really cause pain or it’s the cure for any pain? Can love and belief change everything? Can love and belief turn the impossible into a possibility? Can love bring two individuals together from two different worlds and unite them forever in a way that even death can’t separate them? Can a promise of love win over life and death? Can it change the course of nature?

All these questions form the crux of my film,” said the director.

Talking about how the story proceeds, Sujit said, “Arjun makes a promise to himself that his and Hiya’s love will be timeless, right at the moment when he first saw her as a kid. It was love at first sight for them. But then, fate separates the two lovers in the most cruel way. Hiya’s love becomes the cure for Arjun’s pain and his love becomes her life. It is a journey of love and belief that has to fight the odds of life and death.”

Jeet Gannguli will compose the music for the film, which is penned by Shweta Bharadwaj and Manish Sharma. The film will go on the floors from next week and will be shot in Kolkata and Singapore. “This film is special as I am working with Priyanka, Sujitda and the production house for the first time.

I hope the audience will love Priyanka and me together on screen. I play Arjun who is alcoholic and suffers from depression. How he comes out of this state and faces life is what this love story is all about,” said Yash. Priyanka is happy to be associated with the film. “I worked with Sujitda two years ago but sadly, the film didn’t release. So, I am looking forward to this film now. I am eager to work with Yash too. I am well aware of his popularity. I just loved the script. Hiya’s character has a lot of shades. It will challenge me as an actor,” she said. ETimes
