Three judges of the High Court have been prevented from performing their duties as allegations of corruption surfaced against them.
Several sources at the Supreme Court administration confirmed to media on Thursday ( August 22) that justices Salma Masud Chowdhury, Quazi Reza-Ul Hoque and A.K.M. Zahirul Hoque have been barred from hearing matters.
The names of the three High Court judges were not also included on list.
Attorney General Mahbubey Alam said that he was "aware of three High Court judges being probed".
"But I am reluctant to comment on it at this time as it involves the president and the chief justice," he said.
