Fakhrul, 7 other BNP leaders surrendered and applied for bail

BNP secretary general Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir and the top seven leaders have surrendered and applied for bail in a case of vandalism at Hatirjhil police station in the capital.

They surrendered to Dhaka Metropolitan Magistrate Sarafuzzaman Ansari's court on Monday. The hearing on the matter has ended. The court will order later.

Other accused are BNP standing committee members Barrister Moudud Ahmed, Gayeshwar Chandra Roy, Nazrul Islam Khan, Abdul Moin Khan, Mirza Abbas, Amir Khasru Mahmud and organizer secretary Ruhul Kudus Talukder Dulu.

On October 1 last year, police filed a case against Hatirjhil police station for allegedly obstructing government work against 55 people, including senior BNP leaders. Later, the BNP leaders got bail from the High Court. The court granted them bail until the police report of the case.
