Preparations have been made to hold the main Eid-ul-Azha jamaat at the National Eidgah on the High Court premises in the capital on Eid day.
Necessary arrangements, including waterproof shed, sitting place, toilets and ablution facilities have been set up at the Eidgah under the supervision of the Dhaka South City Corporation (DSCC), Executive Engineer of DSCC Zone-1 Dr Mohammad Shafiullah told BSS today.
He informed that if the weather permits, the main Eid jamaat (congregation) of the holy Eid-ul-Azha is scheduled to be held at the National Eidgah at 8am on Monday.
Shafiullah said DSCC Mayor Mohammad Sayeed Khokon is expected to visit the National Eidgah and brief journalists tomorrow.
Like previous years, he said, around 90,000 to 100,000 Muslim devotees can join the congregation and special arrangement has also made for around 5,000-6,000 women devotees.
He said measures have been taken to ensure tight security and sufficient supply of water in the Eidgah for the devotees to hold the Eid congregation peacefully.
Around 100,000 Muslim devotees, including the President, cabinet members, politicians, and diplomats join the congregation at the National Eidgah.
