The consequences of the BNP chairperson and former Prime Minister Begum Khaleda Zia's protest against the government's injustice and irregularities, expressed the same fears, Nurul Haque Noor, Vice-President (VP) of Dhaka University Central Student Union (VP).
VP Noor expressed this concern at a press conference held on Monday (August 19) at Madhur canteen of Dhaka University.
He said, "By protesting against the irregularities, my organization and the leaders of the Bangladesh General Student Rights Protection Council are suffering the wrath of the ruling party. Wondering what the consequences of Begum Zia would be for me? Because the Awami League and government intelligence agencies are constantly threatening. I'm even getting threatened with death."
Earlier on Wednesday, VP Nurul Haque Noor was attacked by Chhatra League activists in his area. At least five to seven leaders were attack on his motorcycle. He came to the press conference today.
He said, "People of the ruling party and members of the intelligence agencies came and reminded Khaleda Zia that the government has kept Begum Zia in jail. If we oppose or protest against any of the government's issues, then our consequences can be like Khaleda Zia.''
VP Noor demanded a fair trial from the press conference on Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina's brutal attacks on him.
During this time the quota reform movement, leaders of the General Student Rights Protection Council were present.
