An official at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs said that Foreign Minister Dr AK Abdul Momen will receive his Indian counterpart at Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport upon his arrival at 9:20 pm. Indian External Affairs Minister Dr S Jaishankar arrives here, aiming to strengthen the relations between Bangladesh and India further.
He informed that Dr Momen described Jaishankar’s maiden visit as minister to Bangladesh as a courtesy trip, the two sides are likely to touch upon the matters relating to Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina's forthcoming visit to India, connectivity, water issues and Rohingya.
He added that the Indian minister will visit Bangabandhu Memorial Museum around 9:30am on Tuesday and pay tributes to Father of the Nation Sheikh Mujibuir Rahman by placing wreaths at his portrait there at the city’s Dhanmondi-32.
He will have a bilateral meeting with his Bangladesh counterpart Dr Momen around 11 am on the same day. Dr Momen will host lunch in honour of his Indian counterpart after the meeting, an official told media.
He also added that the Indian Foreign Minister is scheduled to meet Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina at her official residence around 5 pm on Tuesday, and Jaishankar will leave Dhaka for New Delhi on Wednesday morning.
