The Federal Court of Canada in a judgment said Bangladesh’s application for information about the status of Bangabandhu’s killer Nur Chowdhury is valid and the disclosure of such information would not hamper the public interest.
Judge O'Reilly delivered the verdict on Tuesday (September 17).
He said, "I have given my consent for judicial review."
Regarding the verdict, Law Minister Anisul Haque said, "The Canadian court has ruled in our favor and the barriers to disclosing his (Nur Chowdhury's) status have been removed."
Asked when a new application will be made, he said, "very soon."
