Expelled Jubo League president Samrat falls sick, admitted to NICVD

Expelled of Dhaka metropolitan south Jubo League president Ismail Chowdhury Samrat was admitted to National Institute of Cardiovascular Diseases (NICVD) in Sher-E-Bangla Nagar of the capital as he fell sick.

He has been taken to the hospital after he felt pain in his chest on Tuesday morning 7.00 am.

Deputy Central Jail of the Dhaka Central Jail Md. Zahid confirmed the matter.

Samrat, who was arrested on October 6 putting an end to speculations about his arrest since the drive against corruption began over two weeks ago from Cumilla, complained of breathing problem early today.

Later, the doctors of DMCH advised him to admit him in National Institute of Cardiovascular Diseases (NICVD).

Deputy jailer of Dhaka Central Jail Md Jahid confirmed the news.

On Monday, police sought 20-day remand to interrogate Samrat widely known as “Casino Emperor” in two cases filed against him.

The Rab arrested Samrat and Arman in Cumilla early Sunday.

Later, a Rab mobile court sentenced Samrat to six months in jail for possessing wild animal hides and another six months for possessing liquor.

Another mobile court also sentenced Arman to six months in jail for possessing liquor.

Samrat was sent to Dhaka Central Jail in Keraniganj and Arman to Cumilla Central Jail on Sunday night.
