Awami League Information Minister Dr Hasan Mahmud said that Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina has passed a sleepless night to observe the intensity of the powerful cyclonic storm ‘Bulbul’.
Hasan Mahmud said this while speaking a discussion marking the Shaheed Nur Hossain Day at the office of Dhaka City South AL at Bangabandhu Avenue in the capital on Sunday.
He told that our PM Sheikh Hasina, again and again, gave directives to tackle the cyclonic (Bulbul) storm.
Hasan Mahmud told that the AL government took heavy preparations to face the cyclonic storm, and that’s why lives and property of the coastal people got protected from the havoc.
Hasan said that PM Sheikh Hasina has devoted her life to the welfare of the country and its people.
He said that About Nur Hossain, the supreme sacrifice of Shaheed Nur Hossain and other martyrs of the anti-autocracy movement did not go in vain rather the country’s democracy had been established through it.
On the other hand, cyclone ‘Bulbul’ lashed Bangladesh overnight, has killed six people and leaving relatives in a desperate search for more than 40 missing fishermen, though prompt evacuations saved many lives and the worst was over. And at least 6,000 homes were partially or fully damaged, authorities said. Five of the six victims were killed by falling trees.
