Shamim Kabir is no more, he was the first captain of Bangladesh National Cricket Team. He had been suffering from chronic illness for a long time. At the time of his death, he was 5 years old.
Shamim will die at Eden Clinic in Dhanmondi On Monday (July 29) morning.
Shamim Kabir was born in Narsingdi in the year. He played first class cricket for East Pakistan until the middle of the decade. He joined BCB at the end of his career. He was the manager of the Bangladesh team in the ICC Trophy of 1982 and 1986. In recognition of his contribution to sports, he was awarded the National Award in 1999.
